New Delhi: IIT Jodhpur has lost the ambitious Aakash tablet deal to IIT Bombay, an Indian newspaper reported.

Reportedly, the government has decided to hand over the contract for procuring 1 lakh Aakash tablets to IIT Bombay.

The newspaper has quoted highly placed sources from the government who apparently shifted the deal due to constant debate between IIT Jodhpur and Datawind over various aspects of the tablet.

The ambitious USD 35 Aakash tablet project, will now be more closely monitored by the HRD ministry.
