Sony Ericsson mobile has recently launched a mid-range Android based handset -- Sony Ericsson X8 in India. Sony Ericsson X8 is the latest addition to the Sony Ericsson's X Series or XPERIA mobile phones series.
The phone looks like X10 mini, but the screen is bit bigger. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 comes fitted with a TFT capacitive touch screen. The scratch resistant screen is ideal while working on the internet. The user interface of this smartphone is very much similar to Xperia X10 and Mini, with Four Corner Touch. Xperia X8 also includes Timescape for easy access to all your social networking
The X8 mobile phone comes with 3.15 Mega Pixel camera, which can also be used for video shooting. The camera comes with exciting feature of Geo tagging.
The X8 mobile phone has 128 MB internal memory, which can be increased up to 16 GB. The internal memory is enough to support unlimited entries, fields, call records and photo calls. The phone comes with a complimentary 2 GB external memory card.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 is having a 1200mAh Li-Po standard battery. Sony Ericsson is confident to support the power consumption needs of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 with this battery. The dimension of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 is 99 x 54 x 15 mm. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 weighs only 104 gm.
The mobile phone supports 2G and 3G networks and is GPRS enabled. The Class 10, 236.8 Kbps EDGE option is available in the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8. The Bluetooth is version 2.1 with the A2DP. The version 2.0, micro USB port is provided on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 and the phone supports WI-FI.
One of the issues with the small display is that typing becomes a pain. On the X8 they have used the standard Android QWERTY keypad, which feels cramped on the 3.0" display. Apart from this the X8 is nearly identical to the X10 in almost every aspect.
The X8 will be priced less than Rs. 16,000 when it launches this quartet by the end of September or early October.
