Acer has brought to fore a new Android phablet at the Computex 2013 in Taipei — the Liquid S1.

The Acer Liquid S1 is powered by a 1.5GHz Mediatek quad-core processor and carries a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The device runs on 1GB of RAM and has dual-SIM capability.

The Liquid S1 has out-of-the-box Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. When it comes to the storage, the phone has 8GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

In the battery department Acer has put in a 2,400mAh replaceable battery. The phablet has front and back cameras as well.

The highlight of the device is the Acer Float which gives users the ability to multitask without having to back out of one app to work on the other and vice versa.

Along with the Acer Float, Float Caller notification is a nifty little feature which ensures users will not be disturbed by a full-screen call alert which is bothersome at times.

Float apps such as Notes, Maps, Calculator and Camera are also available.

The Acer Liquid is expected to hit the markets in Q3 2013 in Belgium, France, Ukraine, Russia, Germany and UK.

The starting price of the device will be 349 Euros.
