New Delhi: Apple is waiting for September to unveil a new product at a major event, sources close to the plan said on Monday.
Apple Inc, in its typical fashion, unveils its gadgets at the end of fall, so they hit the stores just in time for the peak holiday season. This season, it is quite likely to be the Apple iPhone 5.
The fifth iteration of the phone is expected to be thinner, sporting a larger screen with also a small dock connector, sources and analysts have said.
The company on Monday declined to comment.
Apple's iPhone launches are among the biggest affairs on Silicon Valley's calendar, scrutinized by technology investors, enthusiasts and consumers alike.
The September 12 date may shift, the source said on condition of anonymity.
Technology blog iMore first reported the debut of the new iPhone at a September 12 event earlier on Monday.
