Hyderabad: Targetting the mid and high-end consumer market with gaming and multimedia desktops, Taiwanese IT firm ASUS Wednesday announced launch of its range of six desktops in the country.
The six different desktop PCs under its CM series are aimed at casual PC users while the CG series opens a new chapter in the gaming hardware design, ASUS (India) Country Head-Component Business Vinay Shetty told reporters.
The firm, which specialises in making motherboards and graphic cards aims to lead the market in the niche hi-end gaming and entertainment PCs segment with the launch of the new desktop range, Shetty said adding India has a huge potential for mid and high-end branded desktops.
Asked about the sales target, Shetty said, "the important focus is now on positioning and to establish the product first amongst the consumers. There is bigger scope for ASUS as there are lot of first buyers of computers in India who prefer high performance desktops rather than laptops or tablets."
The ROG Tytan is a fully loaded powerful gaming desktop featuring overclocking options and will be very attractive for buyers interested in HD gaming experiences supporting up to three displays in 3D, he added.
The new range of desktops starts from Rs 22,000 to Rs 1 lakh (without monitor) and other peripherals.
