Google has announced Android 4.1.1 aka Jelly Bean update for Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ smartphone on Wednesday.

The update is to be rolled out to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), and the Jelly Bean version available to developers released at the I/O event.

The new OS update will reach all Nexus users and will be available to users over-the-air. ICS-based Galaxy Nexus phones will receive a 147 MB upgrade, while Android 4.1 running phones will get a small update package of 8.50 MB.

Google Nexus 7, Google’ own version of the tablet PC, will also get the Android 4.1.1 update. The attendees at the Google I/O event had received the Nexus 7 tab and will also get the Jelly Bean update package of Jelly Bean OTA.

The updates are available for manual download.
