Mumbai: Zee is back with bang! According to this week’s TAM India’s TV ratings, the channel has upstaged Colors and grabbed the No. 2 position on the Hindi GECs charts. The channel’s weekday and weekend primetime programs have gained popularity and have received good ratings as compared to other programs on other channels. There has been a steady increase in TV ratings for Zee in the first two months of this year.
Interestingly, Zee is giving tough competition to channel no. 1 Star Plus. While Zee has 154 GRPs, Star has 156 GRPs. Zee also holds to the No. 2 position in weekday prime time (6 pm to 11.30 pm) with 132 GRPS while Star Plus has 148 GRPs.
Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’ continues to be the number one show in Hindi GEC with an average TVR of 5.5 in week 9. Zee has also got high ratings due to its ‘innovative content strategies’. Other channels like Colors are heavily depended on Bollywood content for its weekend programming.
Here is hoping that Zee regains its lost glory as the number one hindi entertainment channel!
