New Delhi: According to latest speculations and media reports, Google Nexus 6 – also dubbed as 'Shamu' might be launched on 31 October 2014.
Also doing the rounds is the speculation that the production of Nexus 6 has been passed to Motorola. Earlier it was being expected that the smartphone will still be manufactured by South Korean tech giant LG.
Several features of the next-generation smartphone are already out on the Internet. Tech lovers can expect the new device to have several upgrades over its predecessor Nexus 5.
Google's new device, Shamu will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a speed close to 2.5GHz. It might also sport a 5.2-inch HD screen, with 1440x2560p resolution.
Shamu may run on yet-to-be released software, Android L. The smartphone can have a 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera, and can come packed with 3GB RAM.
The device is also expected to have features, including a curved LCD display and a lightweight, polycarbonate body. It may also boast of Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and micro-USB connectivity slot.
