Google Nexus 7 tablet -- Google’s next venture into tablet PC space has been unearthed, thanks to sources on the internet.

CNET reported that details of a 7-inch Google Nexus tablet surfaced over the internet sported by a 1280 x 800 IPC LCD display and the new update to the Android OS, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Google Nexus 7 is expected to be made by Asustek Computer Inc, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core Tegra 3 processor, the new addition to the NVIDIA Tegra mobile graphics cards and propped up by 1 GB of RAM.

A 1.2 MP camera is present on the front, though no camera at the back. The tab is rumored to have a nine hour battery backup on a single full battery charge.

The prices according to the report keep the 8GB model of the Nexus at USD 199 and the 16GB version at USD 249.

The search-engine giant is expected to formally announce the Google Nexus at the I/O conference to be held in the coming week.

Undoubtedly, the Nexus 7 tab is a direct aim at rival Apple Inc’s iPad.
