Shanghai: Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company, Huawei has expanded its product line up by launching its own virtual reality (VR) headset. The company is known for making smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and telecommunications equipment.

The wearable device seems to be similar to that of the Samsung's Gear VR. The Huawei VR has a latency of 20ms and a 95-degreee field of view along with a blue filter.

The cost of the VR headset is not known yet.

Headquartered in Guangdong in China, Huawei is the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world, having overtaken Ericsson in 2012. In 2014, Huawei recorded profit of 5.5 billion USD. Its products and services have been deployed in more than 140 countries and it currently serves 45 of the world's 50 largest telecom operators.
