New Delhi: Finnish handset maker Jolla, founded by some ex-Nokia employees, has announced the Sailfish OS 1.0 update which was under Beta testing all this while.
The new Sailfish OS 1.0 will be updated by march March to Jolla Smartphones. Sailfish is the company's own operating system which will provide users alternative to Android, Windows, Blackberry and Apple's iOS.
After the update, users can enjoy improved performance, extended landscape support, better camera functionality. The company will soon provide Sailfish OS downloads from its website as well.
The company is also in talks with partners to sell its smartphones in India, initially by tapping the popular e-commerce route.
Currently Jolla smartphones are available for orders online at its web shop at the price of Euro 399 to all European Union countries, Switzerland and Norway.
Jolla unveiled its first smartphone for about Rs 34,000 in November and is now expanding globally.
