Mozart’s earliest scores discovered biting dust at charity shop

A sheet music that was composed by famous composer Mozart has been discovered from a bundle of a charity shop.

London: A sheet music of six short sonatas for piano and violin that was composed by famous Australian composer Mozart has been discovered from a bundle of a charity shop.

The rare booklet containing some of the composer’s earliest works was handed over to Oxfam shop in Newbury but now has been found gathering dust at the back of the shop, reports a newspaper. The collection was printed in 1765 when Mozart was eight and visiting London as a child prodigy. It was left neglected among other donations at the shop for more than a month until one of the volunteers, music teacher Elestr Lee, spotted it. Oxfam is expected to fetch around 3,000 pounds from it when Sotheby’s auctions the 31-page booklet, dedicated to Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III. next Wednesday. ANI
