Mumbai: On a day when trains services were disrupted on Central line due to a derailment, one wouldn’t expect such frenzy at a railway station but when current sensation from south, actor Dhanush is a part of a flash mob, the crowd has to go mad. On what could have been a regular day at the bustling Churchgate station, a flash mob organized by a leading media house made the entire station come to a standstill at 4:45 pm on Wednesday. Led by actor Dhanush, a group of 300 dancers broke into a mad jig when the speakers blared the current anthem of the country, ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’. Needless to say, the crowd went mad specially after spotting the Tamil star dancing to his own tunes! Stunned by the response, Dhanush later told a daily, “I’m overwhelmed by the response, and by the power of people coming together to sing the song. I first experienced stardom eight years ago when I made it big in Tamil films. I am living it all over again in this second innings. It truly feels wonderful.” Choreographed by ace choreographer Terrance Lewis, the group comprised of college students, office-goers, housewives and a couple of foreigners. All had practiced for the last three days for the performance and had taken out time to be part of the mob. Inspite of being flanked by bodyguards, Dhanush was mobbed throughout the performance, but the actor seemed to have enjoyed it thoroughly and took the entire situation sportingly. From the time the song went viral on YouTube, the video has got approximately 26,182,262 hits. The song has also inspired many to croon different versions in various languages across India.
