New Delhi: Micromax, that entered the budget tablet space this April with the Funbook, expanded its range further by launching the Funbook Pro.

Funbook with its attractive price range and urban youth-meant content combined with the theme of education and entertainment has received a lot of applause from buyers.

Let’s have a look at the five aspects of its enhanced version— the Funbook Pro.

Performance: The tab includes Android 4.0 Ice-Cream Sandwich, Cortex A8 1.2Ghz single core processor, 1GB RAM, dual Mali 400 GPU and 8GB internal memory that can be expanded using a microSD card. But this can well be compared with the Karbonn Smarttab 1 which is also powered by Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean Platform) and has 1.2GHz processor.

Display and camera: The new tablet has a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. It also has a front VGA camera for video chats, HDMI output and USB on-the-go support for connecting USB drives and USB 3G dongles. The camera and display range is better than HCL Me Tablet U1 which has a 7-inch display that boasts of a resolution of 480x800. The front also has the 0.3MP camera.

Design: It is a sleek tab and comes with an easy handle. Online shopping portal Snapdeal is offering the Micromax Funbook Pro in Slate Grey color and has clubbed Tata Docomo+ data card for free.

Miscellaneous: Edutainment being its theme, the Micromax Funbook Pro offers study material from primary classes to graduate level. This can be termed as the USP of the tablet too. The tab aims caters to both the needs of the youth—education and entertainment. It also offers apps like Facebook, twitter that lets you be in touch with friends 24*7.

Price: On the price range, the tab is bit more priced than its predecessor Funbook. But if you are looking at sub Rs 10,000 level tablet with a USP, Micromax Funbook Pro could be a nice choice. Other tabs in the range are Karbonn Smart Tab 1 priced at Rs 6,990, Zync Z-990 plus priced at Rs 6490 or the HCL ME Tablet U1, priced at Rs 7,999.

I have purchased the product 1 month back now it`s display has gone totally and worst of all many of micromax service centre in kolkata are not accepting itworst product with worst service of micromaxplease don`t go for it -VISHAL GAJBHIYE -kolkata

I purchased FunBook Pro online dated 14-Aug-2012 from their portal and it got delivered in 10 days Ever since I opened the box there was display problem and after 2 weeks display has gone completely I tried several time to contact on 1-8605008286 (impossible number means you will get connected if you are lucky) I use email to contact them and got below response When I visit service center, they were so many frustrated customers like me and that`s where I got few suggestion to write consumer forum and Pahredaar(CNBC Awwaz) I gave my tablet to service center on 21-Sep-2012 and they ask me to pay Rs 3780 than they will replace my LCD, I cant see anything physically damaged but they are saying it is damaged internally and LCD need to be replace Till today I did not received any call from them as when they will give my tablet back Today (6-Oct-2012) when I contacted service center they have no idea and showing status as pending They asked me to contact Micromax and check the status agai-Uday -Hyderabad
