Moto G to be unveiled in India on February 5

New Delhi: Moto G, the much anticipated smartphone of the year, is likely to hit India in Wednesday, February 5.

Expected to be officially unveiled on February 5, Motorola's budget smartphone will be, however, available only on Flipkart exclusively for two weeks before it hits the Indian smartphone market in the third week of February.

Flipkart is the only retail to have advertised Moto G with the teaser 'Exceptional Phone. Exceptional Price'.

Online retailer Snapdeal has also listed the product, however, it will available with them only in the third week of February. As per reports, the online retailers has garnered over a thousand pre-bookings for the phone.

One of the most anticipated smartphones considering its specifications and price, Moto G should give tough competition and set a trend in the sub- Rs 20,000 category.

Here's looking at some of the specifications of Moto G.

Display: 4.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) 'edge-to-edge' display, a pixel density of 329 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass protection

Processor: 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU

Operating System: Android 4.3. It is upgradeable to Android 4.4 (KitKat)

Camera: 5MP back camera with LED flash, 1.3MP front camera. Records 720p HD video at 30fps

Memory: Comes in two variants of 8GB and 16GB internal memory.


Connectivity: 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS

Battery: 2070 mAh battery
