New Delhi: The much awaited and anticipated ‘phablet’ from Samsung electronics, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was launched at the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) 2012 in the capital of Germany, Berlin on Wednesday.
Galaxy Note 2 can be claimed as a saving grace for a visibly shaken Samsung after the patent verdict ruling against it which saw Apple scoop a whooping USD 1 billion win.
Let’s have a look at five amazing things about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
You probably heard this name in 2010, when Dell Streak was announced. But ‘Phablet’ didn’t create the hype as it did this time with the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Just to revise, Phablet is a device that is anything between a smartphone and a mini tablet. The size exceeding five inch is another criteria to be tagged as Phablet. The other decisive factor of a Phablet is the stylus pen.
Stylus pen or S pen
Stylus pen or S pen is similar to an actual pen. As per Samsung’s description, the S Pen is combined with the full touch screen to create a best-in-class mobile input experience. It is the most advanced pen input technology featuring an array of functions including pressure sensitivity, preciseness, speed and more. With the S Pen, you can easily sketch drawings or write notes with increased accuracy and ease. Also, the S Pen functionality is deeply integrated into the GALAXY Note’s native applications to provide a richer interactive experience.
There is no doubt about the looks of this Smartphone-Tablet. What makes it all the more sought-after is its bigger display. The 5.5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen of the phone gives it an edge over its ilks. The 1280x720 screen resolution at a 267 Pixel per Inch (PPI) density ensures excellent viewing.
Big is Better
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 can certainly boast reviving the trend—Big is beautiful. The Note 2 wears a glossy design and has a very smooth edge. The Galaxy Note 2 measures 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm and weighs about 180 grams. Holding the phone is bound to give you a very corporate feeling but at the same time it has a `cool` appeal to it. It might not sit comfortably in your pocket, but who cares if you have a better reason to show it to the world? Big is better here, you can just Carry It!
Performance and Release Date
The Galaxy Note 2 has a 1.6GHz quad core Exynos 4412 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. In terms of processing power, the Galaxy Note 2 can beat any existing smartphone in the existing range.
Although there has been no official confirmation on the release date of the phone but it is widely believe that you won’t be deprived of the Galaxy Note 2 this winter. Some websites have reported the release date to be in the month of October. But when you have something like this Phablet to wait for, you won’t mind waiting, isn’t it?
