New Delhi: The heavily hyped Samsung Galaxy S3 is out in the market. However the much anticipated smartphone that hit the Indian stores evoked mixed response from the consumers, tech and mobile lovers.

Despite having superb features at par with Apple’s iPhone or its other competitors like HTC OneX and Sony Xperia, Samsung’s Galaxy S3 has its limitations.

Exorbitant price

Micro blogging sites as well as social networking sites are full with funny comments on Samsung Galaxy S3. The price is not coming down the throats of Indian mobile users. Not that Indian consumers cannot afford a mobile phone worth this price, but because the proportion of pricing and features of this product are not rational. That is what consumers believe. At Rs 43,180, this smartphone is clearly steep for the wallet.

Brand

Samsung might have toppled Nokia to become number one in cell phone technology however a certain brand called Apple still is undisputable when it comes to brand value. Sale of Galaxy S3 could have competed with that of Apple iPhone 4S provided the price was not so approximate.

A 16GB Apple iPhone 4S will cost you Rs 44, 500 apiece while the 32 GB model is priced at Rs 50,900 and the 64GB version at Rs 57,500.



Apple, as a brand, definitely has an edge over Samsung any day.


Galaxy S3 Vs Galaxy S2

Might sound awkward but cannibalization cannot be ruled out here. The Galaxy S2 model with almost the same features and a much lower price could create a scope for second opinion. At a price difference of almost fifteen thousand between the two phones, Galaxy S3 certainly has a competitor from its own house!
