It’s quite clear that Korean tech giant Samsung introduced its new flagship, the Galaxy S3, to out gun its rival the Apple iPhone 4S, along with the rest of the competition. But that’s not all to it, the smartphone maker hopes to clear the 10 million mark of units sold to date, which will make the S3 Samsung’s fastest selling smartphone!
Samsung Co also said that their handset division earnings would be more in the current second quarter than in January-March.
However, its profit from the mobile division went up almost three times in January-March to USD 3.6 billion, accounting for 73 percent of group operating profit.
The company’s shared dropped 4.2 percent on Monday to a four-and-a-half month low due to more brokers cutting their quarterly profile outlook.
The Galaxy S3 was introduced to the market on May 29 but has been marred with some hardware difficulties owing to the lack of the handset casing for the pebble blue model.
