Samsung unveils Music Hub with Galaxy S3, hopes to take on Apple iTunes
Zeebiz Bureau

London: Samsung unveils a new music service the Music Hub with the Galaxy S3, its latest flagship smartphone that hits the European market on Tuesday, to give a good amount of competition to its arch rival’s Apple iTunes.

The company has previously provided music and video services on its devices, where they compete with other established players in the music realm from the likes of Google, Amazon and other streaming services such as Pandora Media and Spotify.

Samsung Electronics' Media Solution Center’s senior vice president T.J. Kang states that it is the first time that the company has ventured forth into building its own music services from scratch. He also believes that Samsung will do a great job if they have complete control of all their sevices.

A lot of other established players, like Microsoft’s Zune, have gone up against iTunes but companies are still out their trying to find out a winning formula which can go head-to-head with the formidable iTunes music services.

Samsung’s Music Hub Premium will allow users to upload music to the cloud and access it from a PC and up to five mobile devices.

Users can also buy their favourite tunes from a mega 19 million song collection. Prices will remain comparable to the iTunes.
