New Delhi: Sony on Wednesday launched the Xperia Z1 — its latest smartphone equipped with a 20.7 MP camera.
Like other high-end Xperia phones, the Xperia Z1 is dustproof and waterproof as well.
The Xperia maker unveiled the phone at IFA 2013 hosted in Berlin.
Quite similar in looks when compared to the other Xperia flagship handsets, the highlight of the Z1 is its 20.7 MP camera.
Sony states that the main camera has three times clear image zoom with no loss of image quality. In the specs department the camera has Sony’s G Lens with F2.0 and wide angle 27mm. It also comes with a 1/2.3-type Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor which is a high sensitivity sensor capable of capturing details and crisp images.
Also, Timeshift burst mode lets the Xperia Z1 takes 61 images in 2 seconds. Users may then scroll for the best image(s) they wish to choose from.
Earlier, Xperiablog had published the official press release for the Xperia Z1 that pretty much summed up the details about the new phone, except the price. It also gave way to many rumours that the official name for the phone was indeed the Z1, which was also referred to as Honami.
The Xperia Z1 will be available globally from September 2013.
