Washington: Sony has reportedly launched its new 'water-proof' tablet called the 'Z2', in the US, which is now available for pre-order on its website.
The tablet will be available in stores on May 4.
According to Tech Crunch, the Z2 packs an impressive 10.1 inch display, sports a 8MP camera, front-facing speakers and 3GB of RAM paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC (System On Chip) running at 2.3 GHz.
The new addition is thinner and faster than the last year released, Z1 and is being seen as Sony's attempt to stabilize the crumbling brand.
Priced at 499 dollars, the Z2 16GB can be pre-ordered on Sony.com.
