London: Madonna has enraged Italian politicians by alluding that Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi had “screwed the entire nation”.
During an interview with the country’s best selling Oggi glossy magazine, the 53-year-old singer was asked what she thought of Mr Berlusconi, who is facing a trial this month for allegedly having sex with an underage prostitute. The ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ hitmaker quickly reacted by referring to The Economist magazine, which carried an analysis of the billionaire politician’s sex parties under the headline “The man who screwed an entire country”, earlier this year. “What do I think about Berlusconi? I wouldn``t like to talk about it now. But didn’t The Economist say it all?” the Telegraph quoted her as saying. The singer’s comments have infuriated a host of politicians, even calling for boycotting her new movie ‘W.E.’. ANI
