McCartney`s ‘Yesterday’ sells for £150K at auction

A piano that Paul had used to write ‘Yesterday’ has sold for 150K pounds.

London: A piano that Sir Paul McCartney had used to write The Beatles’ classic ‘Yesterday’ has sold for 150,000 pounds.
McCartney, 68, had sat at the 1926 Art Deco green miniature piano to compose the melody to ‘Yesterday’ at singer Alma Cogan’s house in 1964, the Daily Express reported. The singer had famously told how he heard the tune in a dream and hurried to the piano when he awoke so as not to forget it. A number of stars, including Sammy Davis, Jr., Sir Michael Caine, Sir Mick Jagger and John Lennon, also played the instrument while at Cogan’s London home. The Eavestaff piano was sold by Cogan’s sister at an auction in London on April 15, and it is believed the anonymous winning bidder is an overseas private collector. ANI
