Kindle Fire makes up half of all Android tablets sold in US
London: In less than six months of release, Amazon's Kindle Fire has taken more than half of the entire Google Android tablet market, according to a report.

According to research from ComScore, 54 percent of all Android tablets are Amazon Kindle Fires.

The second most popular tablet, Samsung's Galaxy Tab, has 15.4 percent of the market, The Telegraph reports.

According to the report, other Android tablets making in the list were Motorola Xoom, the third most common tablet with seven percent share, the Asus Transformer, with 6.3 percent, and the Toshiba AT100, with 5.7 percent.

Amazon has not revealed how many Kindle Fire tablets it has sold, but it does say that the seven-inch device, which was launched in the US November, is the most popular product the company offers.

The Kindle Fire has not yet been released outside the US.

Earlier this month Amazon launched the Kindle Touch, the touchscreen version of its popular ebook reader, in Britain.
