John Lennon`s suit from Abbey Road auctioned

Lennon’s suit from the iconic cover of Abbey Road went under the hammer.

London: John Lennon’s white suit from the iconic cover of Abbey Road went under the hammer yesterday at the Braswell Galleries in Norwalk.
The pristine outfit was expected to fetch more than 75,000 pounds but sold for 46,000 pounds to an anonymous online bidder, reports a daily. The two-piece suit, according to the gallery, was custom made for Lennon by the French haute couture designer Ted Lapidus and when he died it went to Lennon`s first wife Cynthia but was bought by an unnamed singer in 1996. Auction house co-owner Gary Braswell said that the suit`s current owner decided to sell after experiencing some economic hardship. ANI
