Chennai: Hinduja Group firm Ashok Leyland Friday reported a 42.01 percent fall in its net profit at Rs 150.03 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 258.73 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal, Ashok Leyland said in a filing to BSE.
Net sales of the company stood at Rs 3,648.41 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 4,254.32 crore for the same period year ago.
In a separate filing to BSE, the company said its Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.60 per share of the face value of Re 1 each.
For the fiscal ended March 31, 2013 net profit of the company stood at Rs 433.70 crore. It was Rs 565.97 crore for the year ago period.
Net sales of the company were at Rs 12,203.07 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013 as against Rs 12,703.45 crore for the year ago corresponding fiscal.
Shares of Ashok Leyland Friday closed at Rs 22.40 per scrip on BSE, down 1.10 percent from its previous close.
