New Delhi: Post the debacle of Ram Gopal Varma`s `Rann`, Emraan Hashmi starrer `24X7 Raftaar` appeared to be on hold but the producers says the project is very much on and is awaiting a September release.
`Rann` and `Raftaar` both revolve around the internal politics of a newsroom. While `Rann` released and flopped despite critical acclaim, there were rumours that `Raftaar`, starring Emraan Hashmi and Neha Dhupia, was put on hold.
While the principal shooting of the film is more or less complete, everyone was surprised around the constant delay in film`s release announcement.
Hashmi, who is currently shooting for `Crook: It`s Good To Be Bad`, said the shooting of the film is not over yet.
"Some shooting is still left for the film. I know that (producers) Percept Pictures have a lot of films in the pipeline. I don`t know what are their plans for `24X7 Raftaar` and when exactly are they looking at releasing it," he said.
But the producers deny that the film had gone into cold storage. "`24X7 Raftaar` is pretty much on and we are looking at September release. We have plans to release a total of nine films before end of year. This would include `24X7 Raftaar`," said Sanjay V Ahire, COO, Percept Pictures.
Neha Dhupia also continued to be positive about the film, saying, "It is such a fabulous film and it wasn`t really nice to be waiting for some great work by everyone to be seen on screen. I for sure am extremely attached to it."
The film will also mark the debut of three South African beauties. As a part of `Indian Premier League (IPL) Miss Bollywood` contest held in South Africa last year, three beauty queens -- Dune Kossatz, Genna Cloud and Dunay Nortje --were selected to feature in an item number in the film.
This should spell good news for both Emraan and Neha who have been waiting for their film to finally hit the screens.
`24X7 Raftaar` also adds on to the interesting profile of both the actors because while Emraan would soon be seen in `Crook: It`s Good To Be Bad` & `Once Upon A Time In Mumbai`, Neha has `With Love To Obama` and `Pappu Can`t Dance Saala` lined up before 2010 comes to a close.
