168 lyricists composing world`s longest song

Hoping to set a record for the longest ever song, 168 songwriters are penning a single.

Sydney: Hoping to set a world record for the longest ever song, 168 Australian songwriters are penning a single, proceeds from which will go to charity. The song producers will release it as a single with all proceeds donated to the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, a charity promoting therapy through creative music, the Herald Sun reported.
The song was written as part of the Song Summit songwriting conference in Sydney. Artistes attending the conference were asked to contribute a rhyming couplet to the work. Federal minister and former singer of the Midnight Oil band, Peter Garrett wrote the first two lines of the song, which says: "There`s a song in my heart, there`s a story to sing." IANS
