New Delhi: Actor Anil Kapoor, who rode on the success of `Slumdog Millionaire` to land a plum role in the TV series `24`, sees a lot of opportunities opening up in Hollywood for Indian actors.
"People in Hollywood are very broad-minded and there is no stereotyping of Indian actors. The situation is very optimistic and there are lots of opportunities. My experience of working there has been fantastic," Anil told reporters.
The 50-year-old actor stars as the President of a fictional Islamic country in the eighth season of `24`, which is an action-drama television series produced for the Fox Network.
Anil, who is the only Indian face on the show, had to go into extensive research to prepare for his role.
"To play Omar Hassan, I had to brush up my English first of all. To get under the skin of the character, I watched videos of world leaders on Youtube and read their books and speeches. I had to learn about the politics of the Middle East as well as America," said Anil.
As a result, the National award winning actor says that he is now educated about world politics and can actually join politicians in their discussions.
"I have been meeting many politicians and I can now understand what they are talking about. I am much more aware of world politics now," said Anil.
The eighth season of the series premiered in India this week, even though it was supposed to go on air on August 9.
"But I had my hands full promoting `Aisha` and wanted to focus on it completely. So I requested the channel to delay the premiere. Now that the film has seen so much success, my daughters have left on a holiday leaving me here working," said Anil.
Despite his Hollywood success, Anil retains his humility.
"I am a middle class man, I work 24/7. I love the world of show business and cinema and anything related to films. Acting is my first love," said Anil.
The actor is now planning to re-make the Lindsay Lohan starrer `Freaky Friday` in Hindi once he finds a suitable director.
