Chennai: As part of streamlining supply of LPG distribution system, state-owned Oil Marketing Companies today urged people not to panic and sought their cooperation in supply of subsidised cylinders.
"Consumers are requested to ensure they possess the Domestic Gas Consumer Card booklet with a serial number and consumer number by distributor. If a consumer does not have the booklet they should obtain it from the distributor.
"They are requested to produce the booklet to the delivery boy on receiving the refill cylinder," State Level Co-ordinator for the oil industry in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry V K Jayachandran said.
After entering details of the LPG filled by the delivery boy, consumers must check the entry and sign the booklet, he said in a statement.
Consumers should present a cash memo acknowledgement of the refill cylinder, he said, adding, cash memo would indicate the number of subsidised cylinder being delivered against entitlement as well as the serial number of DGCC booklet.
"Consumers must check the serial number of the booklet matches with the printed on the cash memo", he said.
On the piped supply of LPG to households, he said the government's subsidy of capping six per household a year would be based on the number of flats/apartments occupied.
