New Delhi: Gifted with a unique sense of aesthetics, designer Vineet Bhal showcased pastel story with warm colours on day three of WIFW Spring/Summer 2011. Using primary shades with exquisite combination of pastel blues, beige, peach and white, Bhal used colours to foretell the floral styling in his distinctive style. Well, Bhal’s creativity does not stop here as his laser cut technique on leatherite is show stealer. Some other embellishments include buckled cuffs, belt patch on back trenches and geometrical panels highlighted with contrast piping. Bhal gets creative with fabrics like chiffons, georgettes and silks. We also get to see pleather (plastic and leather) and silk combinations, where PVC appliqués in black on white organza silhouettes leave fresh visual impact. The silhouettes have a discreet line of pleather-silk skirts, jumpsuits, overlay jackets and cropped tops. Bhal also uses a new innovative technique of scratch prints that give an illusion of ikkat weave. The designer gets high on creativity with a fine blend of sequin detailing and pleather patchworks.
