‘Green’ ambassadors Bachchans not so environment friendly

Mumbai, July 08: For a family that is seen propagating eco-friendly measures, the Bachchan clan seems to be practicing little and preaching more. In the line of fire for zooming around in their loaded personalized SUVs, the popular family’s patriarch Amitabh Bachchan has rubbed the environmentalist the wrong way for not ‘walking the talk’.Be it award functions or ad campaigns or media interviews, the Bachchans have been overtly vocal about the ways environment can be restored. The famous father son-duo Amitabh-Abhishek is often heard talking about the need to control the emission of toxic gases. But what is ironic is the fact that the famous family that is otherwise considered as environment ambassadors seem to snub their own philosophy when it comes to moving around in their toxic gas emitting SUVs. Talking about their double standard, an actor on condition of anonymity said, "It is funny how they talk about global warming and eco-friendly means of travel, but when it comes to implementing it themselves, they fail miserably." Well, it’s time that the Bachchans look in their own backyard before they preach high morals.
