Ronnie Wood takes up cricket to stay sober

London: Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood is eyeing a more sedate lifestyle - he wants to sign up for his local village cricket team.

The guitarist quit drinking alcohol earlier this year and has vowed to dedicate his life to more sober pursuits as he battles to stay off the booze, reports contactmusic.com. And he has found the perfect way to relax in a drink-free environment with girlfriend Ana Araujo, as he practises his cricket skills so he can play the sport for a team based near his home in Surrey. "I went for a walk with Ana in the local park and the cricket team asked me to join. Now I`m getting notes through the door asking me to be the new batsman. I said I`d love to if I had the time. I`ve been practising my bowling too," he said. Bureau Report
