New Delhi: He may be no dandy but Vir Das confesses to spending more time in the make-up room than in front of the camera during the making of `Badmaash Company`.
The stand-up comedian who has four tattoos, spent hours covering them up, so much so that he took more time getting his make-up done than the film`s leading lady Anushka
Sharma.
"The tattoos did not go with the character, so they had to be covered up and it was a lengthy process. I often ended up spending more time in make-up than Anushka and it`s a
tedious process," said Das.
But his obsession with body art caused Das trouble, when he decided to add a new etching while shooting for the film, much to the chagrin of director Parmeet Sethi.
"I got a new tattoo while shooting in Bangkok and Parmeet was upset because it meant an added hour in make-up. I did get a scolding but all is well," said Das who plays a wannabe actor Chandu in the film, whose ultimate ambition is to act opposite Madhuri Dixit.
"I play one of the four friends and Chandu is a very animated guy, sort of a pervert. Because the film is about the friendship between the four characters, all of us had to bond and have that chemistry for it to show on screen," said Das who debuted as an actor in Vikram Bhatt`s `Mumbai Salsa` in 2007.
