Hollywood star Kate Hudson steals Diaz`s film role

London, May 24: This could lead to one of the Hollywood`s major cat-fights as actress Kate Hudson has bagged a role in film `Nine` which her contemporary Cameron Diaz was desperately looking forward to.

Both the actresses reportedly went head-to-head to land the part of dancing film critic Stephanie Necrophuros in the forthcoming musical `Nine`, reported Daily Mail online. `The Charlize Angels` star was reportedly keen to clinch the role but she lost it out to 30-year-old Hudson in the final audition. "Cameron was keen to land a lead part outside the romantic comedy genre she is best known for," a source told the newspaper. "She gave an amazing audition and her dance routine was something else but her singing let her down and Kate, who wasn`t as good a dancer but was the better singer, got it," the source added. `Nine` which also stars A-listers like Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Sophia Loren and Dame Judi Dench is reportedly on its way to become a big hit this season.
