Britney Spears, Halle Berry and LL Cool J were among the presenters at the Nokia Theatre, who paid tribute to the ‘How Will I Know’ hit-maker, who died aged 48 in February. Jennifer Hudson and Usher also gave musical performances, belting out some of Houston’s hits. A lot of stars also shared their memories of Houston at the event. “She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dream and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all,” the BBC quoted Berry as saying on stage. “I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston,” she said. Spears also confessed that her version of the singer’s ‘I Have Nothing’ got her a deal with a record label that kick started her career. Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, and record label executive Clive Davis, who discovered Houston, were among the other people who attended the event. The event called ‘We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston’ will be broadcast in the US on November 13. ANI
