New Delhi: Direct selling company Amway India Enterprises on Tuesday said it has opened a business process outsourcing (BPO) unit to be run exclusively by visually challenged persons in Madurai in association with Indian Association of the Blind.

Amway India's CSR arm Amway Opportunity Foundation has partnered with Indian Association of the Blind (IAB) in the project to set up the BPO unit, the company said in a statement.

The BPO funded by Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) would provide employment to 60 people and would be increased upto 200.

Located at the IAB campus in Madurai, the centre was inaugurated by Hon'ble Judge D Stanley David and Sujoy Bose, Associate Vice President (South), Amway India & Amway Opportunity Foundation.

Commenting on the development, Bose said:"We are glad to partner with IAB for such a noble project generating employment for the visually challenged. In line with AOF's vision to support visually challenged with education, AOF had earlier set up computer center and an audio visual library at IAB. Now with the BPO, we reiterate our commitment to this cause".
