Anurag Jain appointed acting CMD of Exim Bank
Exim Bank said Monday IAS officer Anurag Jain has been appointed as its acting chairman and managing director after the retirement of incumbent TCA Ranganathan.
Mumbai: Exim Bank said Monday IAS officer Anurag Jain has been appointed as its acting chairman and managing director after the retirement of incumbent TCA Ranganathan.
Jain is a 1989 batch IAS officer and has been a joint secretary, financial inclusion and chief vigilance officer at the financial services department of the Union Finance Ministry before his appointment as Exim Bank CMD, the premier export finance institution said, adding that his appointment is until a regular incumbent is appointed by the government.
Ranganathan, who relinquished his office on attaining superannuation, on November 30, had served as the chief executive of the bank since April 2010, before becoming its CMD.
Under his stewardship, Exim Bank crossed significant milestones in business promotion as well as other initiatives as the premier export finance institution of the country.
Jain is a graduate in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and holds a Masters degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, the public policy school of the University of Syracuse.
He is also on the boards of the Punjab National Bank, the National Insurance Company and IFCI.
