Colombo: Bollywood actor Harman Baweja is clear that he doesn`t want to get into anything other than acting, unlike many celebrities nowadays who are increasingly trying their hand at production and direction in Hindi filmdom.
"I have no plan so far of getting into anything else other than acting. I`m enjoying what I`m doing and that`s my only calling at present," Harman told reporters.
The 29-year-old, who debuted in 2008 in ‘Love Story 2050’ opposite Priyanka Chopra, is the son of director Harry Baweja and producer Pammi Baweja. He went on to act in films like "Victory" and "What`s Your Raashee?" later. However, he couldn`t find success with any of his ventures.
Harman`s future projects include ‘It`s My Life’ directed by Anees Bazmee. It also stars Genelia D`Souza and Nana Patekar in lead roles. The film is a remake of the superhit Telugu film ‘Bommarillu’, which was also remade in Tamil as ‘Santosh Subramaniam’. Baweja also has Kunal Kohli`s first production venture in his kitty.
At the moment, the actor is attending the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend here. He also played in the charity cricket match organised Friday by IIFA, during which he hurt himself.
"It was great fun, but I shouldn`t have dived. I think I took it very seriously and now my shoulder is in a fix, but it was good fun playing with Sri Lankan cricketers," he revealed.
"Playing a match for charity gives you a greater rush than actually playing because on one hand you are enjoying yourself and at the same time you are supporting a cause, so it`s a dual thing, feels great," he added.
The proceeds of the match went to a fund that will rehabilitate child soldiers displaced during the civil war in the island nation.
Talking about how he felt about being in Sri Lanka, the actor said: "I`ve been here a couple of times. It has been consistently hot but it`s a good laidback country to come and spend a weekend and go back."
