Los Angeles: Hollywood superstar Brad Pittand actor Shia LaBeouf are reportedly in talks to star in Summit Entertainment`s new crime thriller `Riptide`.
Pitt is said to have been offered the role of an investigator while LaBeouf is likely to play a young broker, Ace Showbiz reported.
The film follows a handyman, the young broker and the stock broker`s girlfriend who board a ship called the Nautica.
One of the men is found dead floating in the sea and his girlfriend is found at a nearby hotel. Thus, the investigator is called in to figure out what happened and why.
Richard McBrien has written the script with Peter Morgan rewrites it. Steve Tisch and Will Davies are producing crime thriller but the project is yet to find a helmer.
Pitt`s last big screen outing was Quentin Tarantino`s `Inglorious Basterds` while LaBeouf, who is currently busy shooting `Transformers 3`, will next be seen in `Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps` along with Michael Douglas. The film is releasing on September 24 in the US.
