Chandigarh sets up `Bollywood Facilitation Centre`

In a bid to attract the film and television industry, a `Bollywood Facilitation Centre` has been inaugurated here today which will provide the filmmakers a platform for planning and executing their shooting schedule in and around the city.

Chandigarh: In a bid to attract the film and television industry, a `Bollywood Facilitation Centre` has been inaugurated here today which will provide the filmmakers a platform for planning and executing their shooting schedule in and around the city.
The Centre was inaugurated by Punjab Governor S F Rodrigues, who is also the Administrator of Chandigarh to facilitate film and TV producers for shooting at various tourist spots, including Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden and the Forest Area. All allied assistance, including details of cinematic locations of the city to suit the themes of the film, security arrangements for film units, deposit of location fees, information regarding boarding, lodging and transport and availability of local talent would also be available, an official spokesman said. The Centre would also provide help to film producers from other parts of the country including Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad, he said. Since 2003 block busters like `Veer Zara`, `Singh is King`, `Namaste London`, and `Apne` have been shot here. Bureau Report
