Adele turns down ‘Beyonce gig’ offer after losing voice to laryngitis

London: Adele has earned the reputation of being the first singer to have turn down a guest duet with Beyonce Knowles during her headlining gig at Glastonbury Festival 2011 after she lost her voice.

The singer was ``gutted`` after coming down with laryngitis and was forced to reject the US superstar’s offer of featuring in her colossal Sunday night set on the Pyramid Stage. Eventually, Beyonce had to call up her pal Gwyneth Paltrow to substitute Adele. “Adele was absolutely gutted, Beyonce is one of her big heroes. It would have been the stuff of dreams to perform with her - the gig of her life,” The Sun quoted a source as saying. “But docs have told her she``s got to rest her voice or risk damaging her prized asset. She hopes one day they can do something together, the source added. This is the second big gig Adele has been forced to miss over the past few months. ANI
