Competition Commission slapped Rs 7,354cr fine in last 3 years
New Delhi: Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed a penalty of over Rs 7,354 crore in 14 cases for anti-competitive practices in the last three years, the parliament was informed on Monday.
Besides, CCI has passed 'cease and desist' orders in another 14 cases, in the last three years, Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
"During the last three years, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has passed cease and desist orders in 14 cases and cease and desist orders along with a penalty of Rs 7,354.118 crore in another 14 cases of anti-competitive agreements," Pilot said.
The parties against whom orders were passed belonged to 17 states in the country, he added.
These states included Delhi, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand.
Other states on the list are Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Maharashtra, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
