Mumbai: When creative minds meet, there is bound to be differences of opinion. And so is the case with Amitabh Bachchan and filmmaker Puri Jagannath.
Buzz has it that the legendry actor, who is working with the Telegu director for the first time ever has had major disagreement over certain dialogues in ‘Bbuddah’. Big B plays his age in the film who behaves like a youth in his early 20s. Moreover, Jagannath wanted Bachchan’s character to be a fanatic fan of the actor of the millennium, Amitabh himself. And the character shall say hard-hitting dialogues from the legendry star’s films. Talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, “Initially when Puri put forward the idea, Mr Bachchan was amused. But as the shooting began Mr Bachchan found the whole idea of mouthing his own lines most vain and self-glorifying. So, Big B put his foot down about this form of self-projection and said ‘no’ to it.” Though the filmmaker chose not to comment on this issue, his friend said, “The whole idea of doing this character who refuses to act his age was to project Amitji in a light that the audience had never seen before. If we take away those colourful lines, the character loses its uniqueness.” And considering Big B’s huge stature he would only do things that stand by his convictions, after giving thoughtful consideration. A source close to the mega star said, “He has never said or done anything that he isn’t fully convinced about. Why would he now?”
