Oprah`s shows to knock Ashes?

Oprah`s Aussie shows are set to smash one-day cricket ratings this week.

Melbourne: Oprah Winfrey’s Aussie shows are set to smash one-day cricket ratings when they air this week.
Her show is believed to surpass ratings for the ongoing Ashes series when telecast on Friday and Sunday - the same night Australia`s second and third one-day matches against England are played in Hobart and Sydney, reports a website. With one-day cricket losing its fans steadily because of the Ashes thumping, Winfrey is sure to pull TV viewers towards her shows. Moreover the talk-show queen already has millions of Oz fans. The Australian public was sent into a spin during Winfrey`s whirlwind visit last month, which featured a live broadcast on the Opera House steps and generated millions of dollars worth of overseas publicity. Some TV insiders are tipping Oprah`s episodes will smash past 800,000 viewers - a solid number during the quieter summer months. However, Channel 9`s director of sport, Steve Crawley, was not too concerned about the collision course with Winfrey. "Who does Oprah play for? I guess you should be calling Oprah`s people to see how they feel about coming up against Australia and England," he said. ANI
