New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limitd (RIL) is expected to launch its much anticipated Reliance Jio 4G on Thursday during the company's annual general meeting (AGM).
According to reports, RIL Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani is expected to reveal the future plans of Reliance Jio including details of tariff plan during the AGM in Mumbai.
While rumours about the launch have been around for a while, India Today said it has “independently confirmed that the big announcement is coming on September 1.”
However, the group said it could be a sort of soft launch and the service would be offered only on trial basis.
“The IndiaToday. In Tech has learned that commercial Jio plans will not be announced tomorrow. Instead, it will mark the opening of the trial to all consumers who have a compatible 4G phone. This trial period is likely to be from September to January,” it further said.
Currently, the Reliance Jio SIM is available to a bundle on 4G smartphones in the country. Each SIM comes with a 90-day Preview Offer which gives consumers unlimited 4G data and VOLTE call for 3 months.
