London: He is known for using expletives about women and gays in his songs but rapper Eminem says he is not homophobic.
The rapper believes that he is targetted because he is a white rapper, an area dominated by black artistes, Daily Mail reported.
"I don`t have any problem with nobody, you know what I mean," Eminem told Anderson Cooper in an interview on `60 Minutes`.
"I felt like I was being attacked. Is it because of the colour of my skin? Is it because of that you are paying more attention?
"Because there are certain rappers that do and say the same thing that I`m saying and you don`t hear anyone saying anything about that. I didn`t just invent saying offensive things," the 37-year-old star said.
The `Slim Shady` hitmaker, who has a 14-year-old child with ex-wife Kim Mathers, and is also raising Whitney, Kim`s daughter from a previous relationship, says he does not use swear words at home for the sake of children.
"I`m a parent. I have daughters. Profanity around my house, no. I don`t cuss. I`m not saying there`s not glimpses of me in the music, there`s not truth in things that I say, but this is music, this is my art," said Eminem, explaining use of expletives in his songs.
The artiste also talked about his difficult childhood in the tough Detroit neighbourhood and said he was often subjected to violence in schools.
"I would change schools two, three times a year and that was probably the roughest part. I got beat up in the bathroom, beat up in the hallways, shoved in the lockers, just, for the most part, being the new kid.
"There was certainly a rebellious youthful rage in me. And the no-getting-away-from fact that I am white and this is predominantly black music and people telling me, `You don`t belong and you`re not gonna succeed because you`re this colour.` Then you want to show those people that you can and you will," he said.
