New Delhi: Indicating improved hiring activities, over 77 percent of recruiters and consultants expect creation of new jobs in the coming six months, a survey released said Wednesday.

Job portal Naukri.Com's latest Hiring Outlook Survey showed that IT, ITeS, retail and BFSI are expected to emerge as top sectors for new employment opportunities.

"77 percent recruiters expect new jobs to be created in the coming six-month period," it said.

The findings are based on responses from over 1,300 recruiters and consultants across more than 20 industries.

Around 51 percent of the respondents anticipate that most new jobs would be at the middle management level.

Naukri.Com's Chief Sales Officer V Suresh said the job market continues to sustain the momentum gained in the first half of this year and is poised to head north. "More than 77 percent of the respondents are optimistic of new job creation in the second half of 2016," he added.

About 51 percent of those surveyed opined that new jobs would be created apart from replacement hiring in the next six months.

With regard to attrition level, 52 percent expected it to remain at similar levels while 32 percent were optimistic that attrition would come down compared to the first half of 2016.

Further, the report said respondents felt that prospects of better salaries (27 percent), growth (18 percent) and a desire to strike work-life balance (12 percent ) remain the "biggest reasons behind switching of jobs".
