New Delhi: Joining others in the sector, budget carrier GoAir hiked ticket cancellation charges to Rs 2,225 now. The charges were Rs 1,900 earlier. The new charges will be applicable from April 21, the company informed.
Despite hike, the charges are still a bit lower than IndiGo and SpiceJet which ae charging Rs 2,250 for cancellation of ticket.
This is the second round of hike affected by these carriers as most of the domestic carriers, including IndiGo, had increased the cancellation charges by a significant amount in February this year.
"We are preparing to petition to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to probe the recent hike in the ticket cancellation charges by the Indian airlines. The way these airlines have announced the increase one-by-one, the pattern definitely suggests an anti-competition practice," Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) president D Sudhakara Reddy had said.
