London: Latin heartthrob Ricky Martin struggled with his sexuality from a very young age as he was forced to flirt with the female fans of his boy band `Menudo` while he was secretly attracted to guys.

The `Livin` La Vida Loca` hitmaker found fame as a child star but revealed about his homosexuality earlier this year, Contactmusic reported. The 38-year-old star found it tough to hide his true emotions from constant limelight and often wrestled with feelings of confusion. "I think you know, you feel attraction, you feel a chemistry. It`s not like you know you`re in love with a guy, but you feel a chemistry. Obviously that`s not what you`re supposed to be feeling, that`s not right. Your church says it`s wrong. You`re 12-years-old and a rock and roll star and you have to do whatever it takes to call the attention of the girls," he told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "Other than that. As an adult, it`s confusing at times, imagine when you`re struggling with all those emotions when you`re 12," he added. PTI
